What are Health Scores?
Health Score AI gives you a complete picture of your clients' well-being, tracking five key areas:
Sleep Score – How well are they recovering?
Wellbeing Score – Is their lifestyle balanced?
Stress Score – Are they under too much strain?
Anxiety Score – How is their mental well-being?
Readiness Score – Are they ready to perform today?
Each score is based on wearable and smartphone data and includes:
A 24-hour score (real-time insights).
A 7-day average (to track trends over time).
Note: If your clients have connected their wearable devices to Apple Health or Google Health and granted the necessary permissions, Health Score AI will automatically pull data from their device. This means that as long as a wearable syncs with Apple Health (iOS) or Google Health (Android), it can work with Kahunas—whether they’re using an Apple Watch, WHOOP, Garmin, Fitbit, or other compatible devices.
Their Sleep, Wellbeing, Stress, and Anxiety Scores will be calculated in real time and displayed in their profile, giving you seamless access to key health insights without extra manual input.
Understanding your clients’ Health Scores
Sleep Score – How well are they recovering?
Quality sleep is one of the biggest performance boosters—but many clients don’t realize how much their recovery is suffering until it’s too late. The Sleep Score helps you track their sleep duration, quality, and consistency, ensuring they’re recovering properly.
How it’s calculated:
Sleep duration (how long they slept vs. their sleep need)
Resting heart rate (RHR) (lower RHR indicates better recovery)
Oxygen saturation (SpO₂) (a key marker of respiratory health)
Sleep consistency (how regular their sleep patterns are)
Coaching Tip: If a client’s Sleep Score is consistently low, suggest adjusting their bedtime, optimizing post-workout recovery, or reducing high-intensity training to prevent burnout.
Wellbeing Score – Is their lifestyle balanced?
A high Wellbeing Score means your client is balancing activity, recovery, and rest effectively. A low score may indicate overtraining, poor recovery, or lifestyle imbalances that need attention.
How it’s calculated:
Daily activity levels (steps, calories burned)
Heart rate variability (HRV) (higher HRV suggests better recovery)
Resting heart rate (RHR) (lower is better)
Mindfulness & recovery practices
Coaching Tip: If a client’s Wellbeing Score is dropping, it could be a sign that stress, poor sleep, or under-recovery is impacting their performance. Consider tweaking their program or adding active recovery days.
Stress Score – Are they under too much strain?
Stress isn’t always a bad thing—it can be a natural part of training and adaptation. But chronic stress leads to fatigue, poor recovery, and performance plateaus.
How it’s calculated:
Heart rate variability (HRV) (low HRV indicates higher stress)
Resting heart rate (RHR) (elevated RHR can signal stress)
Sleep disturbances (poor sleep = higher stress)
Coaching Tip: If a client’s Stress Score is trending high, suggest more low-intensity training, breathwork, or meditation to help regulate their nervous system.
Anxiety Score – How is their mental well-being?
Anxiety affects decision-making, recovery, and overall performance. Unlike the Stress Score, which measures physiological stress, the Anxiety Score identifies behavioral patterns that indicate mental strain or emotional fatigue.
How it’s calculated:
HRV & RHR trends (fluctuations can signal anxiety)
Sleep quality (poor sleep is linked to higher anxiety)
Self-reported anxiety levels (optional)
Coaching Tip: If a client’s Anxiety Score is consistently high, check in on lifestyle stressors, recovery habits, and overall workload. Reducing training intensity, incorporating relaxation techniques, or encouraging better sleep may help.
Readiness Score – Are they ready to perform today?
The Readiness Score helps you assess a client’s physical and mental readiness for exertion. It reflects how well their body has recovered and whether they’re in a state to train hard—or if they’d benefit more from rest and recovery.
A high Readiness Score means your client is primed for peak performance. A low score signals that pushing too hard may lead to fatigue, poor results, or burnout.
How it’s calculated:
HRV trends (higher HRV generally indicates better readiness)
Sleep quality & duration (a strong recovery foundation starts here)
Resting heart rate (RHR) (elevated RHR can mean reduced readiness)
Recent activity strain (high activity without sufficient recovery lowers readiness)
Coaching Tip: Use the Readiness Score to guide daily training decisions. If a client’s score is low, consider reducing load or switching to active recovery. On high-readiness days, it’s the perfect time to push for performance or skill-based sessions.
With Health Score AI, you’re no longer relying on guesswork or client self-reports—you now have real-time data on sleep, stress, and well-being, pulled directly from Apple Health and Google Health. Use these insights to adjust training, optimize recovery, and help your clients perform at their best.
